Ohshima Ireland LTD is currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our growing team based in our facility in Shannon, Co. Clare. This organisation has worldwide expertise but also a local presence within our specialized field. This will be a key role in the company and requires someone coming from a fast-paced multi-national company background.

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling & Stores Support

  • Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries of raw materials, components, and supplies.

  • Issue and deliver materials to different production departments in line with production schedules and requests.

  • Ensure materials are handled safely and stored in the correct locations.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels and ensure sufficient materials are available for production.

  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts.

  • Report any shortages, discrepancies, or damaged goods to the Warehouse/Stores Supervisor.

Quality & Accuracy

  • Inspect incoming goods for quality, damage, or defects before storage.

  • Ensure stock is clearly labelled and accurately recorded in the inventory system.

Documentation & Systems

  • Update stock movements and material issues using the company’s inventory management system.

  • Maintain accurate records of all receipts, issues, and returns.

Coordination & Teamwork

  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and warehouse colleagues to ensure the smooth flow of materials.

  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including housekeeping, organisation, and compliance with health & safety procedures.

Problem Solving

  • Identify and resolve any issues related to stock discrepancies, misplaced items, or production material shortages.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or material handling role (manufacturing/production environment essential).

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent level of spoken and written English.

  • Experience with inventory/ERP systems is an advantage.

  • Forklift certification (desirable).
